Notes From...
On a recent trip to Tokyo, TDM.Space Creative Director Tom Morgan spent an afternoon walking through Ginza, documenting some of the district’s most striking flagship stores.
No brief. No client. Just time to observe and capture.

Ginza...
Ginza remains one of the most refined retail environments in the world. Within a few streets, it brings together an extraordinary concentration of flagship architecture — buildings designed by leading architects, facades that function almost like sculpture, and interiors executed with exceptional precision.
What stands out is the restraint and confidence in the design. The best stores don’t rely on spectacle; instead they focus on materials, proportion, light, and craft.
Each space reflects the work of multiple disciplines — brand teams, architects, retail designers and VM teams — yet they are often documented quickly, without the level of care that went into creating them.
This project marks the start of “Notes From…”, a new series by TDM.Space and Shop Drop Daily documenting standout retail environments in cities around the world.
Each edition is approached with the same level of craft as the commissioned work by TDM.Space — carefully composed, clean, and meticulously post-produced — creating a considered visual record of contemporary retail architecture.
