About
Retail Has Left the Building: An industry breakfast with Shop Drop Daily & Heaps + Stacks
Retail isn't dead. It's just not where we left it.
Retail is no longer confined to four walls. It's showing up in cafés, cultural spaces, communities, unexpected pop-ups and places that don't necessarily look or feel like stores.
But as the boundaries of physical retail continue to shift, some interesting questions emerge. Where should brands be showing up? What makes an experience genuinely worth someone's time? And what do people take away long after they've left?
Shop Drop Daily and Heaps + Stacks are bringing together 30 people from across retail, brands, marketing and the creative industries to explore these questions over breakfast.
Forget the usual conference format. We're keeping things deliberately small, with five tables of six, three guided conversations and plenty of room for different perspectives.
Places are limited: This is a carefully curated gathering designed to encourage genuine conversation. Register your interest using the form below. Registration does not guarantee attendance, and confirmed guests will be notified individually on Wednesday 11 November.
What to expect:
Global retail inspiration
Shop Drop Daily founder Tim Nash opens the morning with a look at some of the most interesting physical brand experiences from around the world, exploring where brands are showing up, why people engage and what stays with them.
Three conversations. Three big questions.
Rather than a traditional panel, guests will take part in three informal, guided roundtable discussions:
01. WHERE DOES RETAIL HAPPEN NOW?
If retail can happen anywhere, where should brands show up next?
02. WHAT'S WORTH GETTING OUT OF BED FOR?
Beyond the product, what makes a physical brand experience worth someone's time, and what value does it create?
03. WHAT DO THEY TAKE HOME?
What should people leave with beyond something they've bought, and how do we make that last?
Breakfast and good company
Good food, interesting people and the opportunity to connect with others who are shaping, challenging and rethinking the role of physical retail.
What's in your bag?
We'll finish with a playful exercise inviting everyone to create their own shopping list for the future of retail, capturing the ideas and priorities that matter most.
