A running brand launching a new shoe usually builds an activation around speed. ASICS built its Chengdu pop-up around the opposite motion entirely — the ordinary, unhurried act of walking — and in doing so found a far more relatable way to sell a slim-soled shoe than any performance claim could manage.

The genius of "Hall of Fame" is structural. Rather than presenting the new GEL-PHAI Z and HYPERSYNC as static product on a shelf, ASICS built an entire trendy street around them, complete with textured red brick walls, oversized posters, and a zebra crossing lifted straight from urban scenery, then split the experience into four distinct stages: an Energy Station, a Confident Street Photography Booth, a Paced Research Institute, and a Teamwork Game Center.
